Buttermilk Pizza Dough

I'm going to share with you my favourite pizza dough recipe. I originally found the recipe in a old pizza book my mom found at a thrift shop. Since I'm visiting family out of town right now I had to google search for the recipe. I'm surprise I actually found it! Oddly I cannot load the page anymore, so I'll just write it out for you.
Here's the recipe, the only thing I did different was kneed the dough in a kitchen aid mixer for 8 minutes. Also to make the butter milk I used 1 1/2 milk and 1 1/2 TBSP of vinegar

4-5 CUPS of flour
1 1/2 CUPS butter milk
1/2 CUP butter
3 TBSP light brown sugar
1 TSP salt
1/2 TSP baking soda
1/2 CUP warm water
1 TBSP vegetable oil
2 PK dry active yeast

Melt butter and buttermilk in a sauce pan.  Warm the milk, don't let it get hot.
Stir yeast and sugar into warm water and let sit for 5 minutes
Sift 4 cups of flour, the salt, and the baking powder in a large bowl. Stir in warm milk and butter. Add yeast mixture and mix well. Knead dough for 8 minutes adding flour to keep it less sticky. The dough is ready when it's smooth.
Put in a clean bowl brushed with oil and cover with cloth in a warm draft free place for 1 hour and a half.

I like to let the dough rise in the oven at the lowest temperature.
For the sauce I like to use a can of tomato sauce mixed with thyme, some sugar, basil, oregano, rose merry, and garlic powder.

One night me and my cousin were sitting down on facebook, then she brought up how people were posting about the moon and this big ring around it. I have never seen nor heard of something like this. I had to get some pictures! here's a website explaining the ring or halo if you're curious

Cat Ear Headphones!

So I'm kind of obsessed with cat ears! I love them sooo much!!!! When I see them on other people I get jealous or envious!  Anyways I have a pair of cat ears I like to wear around in my house all the time and since my son sleeps a lot I have to wear my headphones to listen to my music and take off the cat ears. It would be kind of weird to wear cat ears and headphone at the same time so I thought "Hey! I should crochet cat ears on my headphones" I couldn't find a pattern to make big cat ears so I just messed around a bit and made me own. It's pretty easy really. All you have to do is single-crochet how ever many you want and skip the first stitch every second layer. You have to make four of these and slip stitch them together.

After posting this picture on my Facebook, I got a lot of my friends and family asking for a pair or how much. I enjoy crocheting too much to make a job out of it, so I told them $500 as a joke hehe.

DSLR Remote for your ipod ($9.99)

one day I came across another single mom's blog and she said "The only reason I'd need a man, is to take awesome pictures of me and my son" I totaly agreed because there were many times I wish I had someone to take awesome pictures of me and my baby doing awesome things! So I shared the quote on facebook, not to long after my mom's friend commented "just get a camera remote, you don't need a man!". Since then I've been wishing for a remote for my DSLR, but I don't know where to look for a cheap one in my small town. Couple weeks later I was bored one night after putting my baby boy to sleep I decided to look up photography tips on my app store  and ended up finding a  free trial for DSLRemote, I just had to give it a try!! I was amazed by it! but I wanted the full control of the camera so I got the pro version for $9.99

What you need:
camera cord that hooks up to computer
to review this  Web Site

It's all pretty simple really. You need to download the program from the website and have your camera hooked up to your computer though. I really like this app though because you can take all sorts of pictures!
here are some examples of using the DSLRemote (notice how I'm almost always holding the iPod)

Eagle reflection

Northwest Coast Art
Mirror etching
Eagle box design formlines

I did this a couple months ago and forgot to take a picture of it. So I finally took it out and decided to take that picture. I noticed that the reflection looks amazing because of the camera flash so I had to take advantage of it and this is how it tuned out. Now I'm just curious if I should sell this or keep it since it's my first mirror etching and first Northwest Coast Box Design.

My Little Boy

Just in case you haven't realized this yet but I had a baby boy three months ago in late August. His name is Carlisle Brighton, I named him after my mom and dad whose names are Carl and Brigitte. He was a whole 9lb 4oz when he was born, now he is 16lb!! Time sure does fly when you're a mom!
